The Association for the Protection of the Environment (APE) is an Egyptian non-governmental organization that was established in 1984 to train and equip garbage collectors working in the sectors of health, education, environment and economic through applying the principles of development in participation with the target people, particularly women and children. The Association (APE) focuses on spreading the idea of safe solid waste management; in addition to training garbage collectors by enabling them to become producers of technology through the application of the skills of solid waste management in Egypt. APE’s overall objective is to improve the lives of garbage collectors as individuals and as a community. APE combines its interest in serving the poor with an interest in protecting the environment, specifically with regards to household waste. APE, together with donors and sponsors, has developed projects in order to improve the quality of life in these poor and marginalized communities. Also, the Association has established several units of production through its own resources with the purpose of increasing the income of women. This is accomplished by training and employing them in the safe and healthy methods of recycling solid wastes. The Association (APE) is managed by thirteen volunteers who are members of the Board; in addition, thirty female volunteers provide technical and organizational support and have a positive impact on the development and improvement of the various projects they are involved in. The services and the projects APE undertake in the fields of health, education and income producing programs reach 23,000 citizens annually. APE received several international and local awards for its work in several fields.
The Environmental Technology & Management Association (ETMA) is the Saudi Arabian Section of the Air & Waste Management Association (SAS-A&WMA). In 1993, (SAS-A&WMA) was established as the first international section of the Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) outside of North America.
In 2005, it was renamed as the Environmental Technology & Management Association (ETMA) to accommodate a wider scope of environmental fields. Currently ETMA has approximately 2,000 members. ETMA has an executive board composed of eight officers, in addition to the past-Chair. Board members serve 3-year terms of office and meet regularly to handle section business.
Environmental projects cooperative association (EPCA) is a Saudi for-profit association registered in Saudi Arabia under ministry of Human Resources and Social Development Registration number 10070 dated 29 Muharram 1443 Hijri corresponding to 6/11/2021.
EPCA has been established by a group of Saudi Environmental experts and businessmen to engage in sustainable development of environmental consulting services, professional training, projects, and products. These activities include: renewable energy, climate change, waste recycling, combatting desertification, wildlife, and environmental rehabilitation, all in accordance with The Saudi Vision 2030 and other applicable regulations in the Kingdom.

The Hurghada Environmental Protection and Conservation Association (HEPCA) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that was founded in 1992 and official registered in 1995. This non-profit association is devoted to the protection and conservation of marine life and the underwater environment in the Red Sea.
In addition to private and honorary members, many local diving centers, tour operators and hotels are also HEPCA members. While most members come from Hurghada, Safaga and Cairo, anyone is free to become a HEPCA member. Members support the Association in a variety of ways: through sponsorship. or the donation of funds, services, equipement, or time.
HEPCA works closely with a number of Egyptian governmental departments including; the Red Sea Governorate (RSG); the National Conservation Sector; and the National Parks of Egypt.
HEPCA does not receive funding from any kind of fee system, whether it is for national park fees, marine park fees, environmental tax, reef protection tax or any other name given to a tax collection system used by the diving, snorkeling and tourist community.
The Kuwait Society for Environmental Protection was established on March 31, 1974. The first conference on the human environment was held in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, in 1972, and the decisions and recommendations that resulted from it were to establish the United Nations Environment Program at the global level, with Nairobi as its headquarters, and to encourage the establishment of public benefit associations concerned with conservation. On the environment and combating the causes of pollution at the local and regional levels is the starting whistle for the founding journey of the Kuwaiti Society for Environmental Protection, the first stop of which was the gathering and consultation of an elite group of Kuwaitis who believe in the necessity and importance of working to protect the Kuwaiti environment and preserve all its contents and capabilities after having touched upon the organized global trend towards environmental affairs. The initial discussions and meetings of Kuwaitis concerned with the environment resulted in the development of a preliminary draft to establish a Kuwaiti non-profit public benefit association concerned with the environment, and all the ideas of the founders were crystallized in a detailed official letter about the nature of the association’s work, its objectives, bodies, committees, working teams, and their tasks. It was then submitted to the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor with the aim of announcing the association. Environmental protection, as the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor issued Law No. (7) of 1974 with the actual approval of the announcement of the Environmental Protection Society in Kuwait. Then the name was changed to become the Kuwaiti Environmental Protection Society and then to the current name, the Kuwaiti Society for Environmental Protection.
