The Great Pyramids

The Sphinx
To the south of Chephren, sits a statue of a reclining sphinx, a mythical creature with the body of a lion and the head of a human. The oldest known monumental sculpture in Egypt was built during the reign of the Pharaoh Chephren with a face that is believed to represent that of the king himself.
